Kerry's Bio

Hello, I’m Kerry Kinsey. I’m a God-fearing, Jesus-loving, Christian, who has more than 35 years of experience in broadcasting. I’m an Emmy-nominated and seven-time AP Award-winning television news and sports anchor/reporter, writer and producer.
I’ve covered everything from the breakup of Space Shuttle Columbia, to hurricanes, wildfires, earthquakes, mining disasters, and the presidential visits of George W. Bush, and Barack Obama. I also reported live on former President Donald Trump’s rallies in Grand Rapids, Michigan and El Paso, Texas. At the Michigan event, I beat the competition, scoring an interview with Donald Trump Jr.  Live from Hanoi, Vietnam, I covered President Trump’s second Nuclear Summit meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
I was the lead reporter on the road rage murder/mistaken identity kiling of a Las Vegas mom, the stand-off between a Nevada rancher and the federal government, the Fort Hood shooting rampage, and the mysterious shotgun shooting death of an inmate at Nevada’s High Desert State Prison that ended in a ‘gladiator-like’ fight.” I also hosted a show in Los Angeles for the Fine Living Network. The production, “50 Ways to Cut Your Bills Today,” won a Gold Remi Award at the World-Fest Houston International Film Festival.
I’ve worked in many TV markets including Houston, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Louisville, Salt Lake City, both Carolinas, Tennessee, Florida and West Virginia.  I’ve covered and produced major sporting event specials including the NCAA Final Four, the World Series, the Daytona 500, the Indianapolis 500, the Kentucky Derby, the PGA Championship, the Heisman Trophy presentation, College Football Bowl Games, the NFL, the NBA and many NASCAR races.
I’ve learned how to produce award-winning shows and specials for news and sports by seeing the world through the eyes of the viewer, not from my perspective. That helped me win Associated Press awards for “Best Newscast in Florida,” “Best Sportscast in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia.” and “Best Sports Operation in Ohio”.
I taught my craft at a broadcasting school in Atlanta, GA. I have a wide array of knowledge; shooting, writing, editing, reporting, anchoring, teaching,  producing, live work (in multiple markets both big and small). I started my broadcasting career in 1981 as a radio disc jockey for country station WNEA-AM in Newnan GA. I then worked at WDKD-AM/WWKT-FM in Kingstree, South Carolina as a DJ, news reporter, and play-by-play announcer for high school football and baseball games. As a Braves affiliate I was excited to be able to cover many Atlanta games at the old Fulton County Stadium.
I grew up as an “Army Brat,” son of a Sgt. Major, who was a prisoner of war and recipient of the Silver Star for Gallantry in Action, the Bronze Star, and two Purple Hearts. My brother is a retired U.S. Army Colonel, and a West Point graduate who led his troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. I lived everywhere as a kid including Japan, Hawaii, Texas, Louisiana, and Georgia. I went to high school near Atlanta.
In 2003, I rededicated my life to Jesus Christ. My Christian walk to reject sin and renew my love for, and be obedient to Jesus was strengthened even more in 2016. That’s when I met my beautiful wife Angela at The Church of The Apostles in Atlanta. We both love to tell the story of this unlikely and unbelievable God moment which could only be orchestrated by the Lord.
Now Angela and I have been prompted by the Holy Spirit to use this platform to advance the Kingdom!
I hope you’ll support us as we venture out on our own to report, ‘the how,’ and, ‘the why,’ behind the who, what, when and where.  All of it, from a Christian perspective while sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.
